Available pre-colored (see relevant NOVAGROUT® EPOXY color chart) or in the form of a two component paste (NOVAGROUT® EPOXY BASE) which is mixed with the pigments in powder form EPOCOLOR (see relevant NOVAGROUT® EPOXY + EPOCOLOR color chart). Suitable for swimming pools, heavy traffic floors, non-absorbent surfaces such as metal, glass, tile over tile, but also for bonding and/or grouting tiles inside swimming pools. It is also suitable for bonding tiles inside tanks and applications where there is requirement for tile adhesive with resistance to chemicals.

  • NOVAGROUT® EPOXY is suitable for grouting and welding tiles, mosaics and natural stones to:
    • external areas, terraces, balconies, etc.
    • swimming pools even in seawater
    • internal areas, wet areas like shower rooms and WC
    • underfloor heating systems
    • heavy traffic floors such as shops, hotels, industrial sites, warehouses
    • where there is a requirement for rugged, non-absorbent joints such as dairies, slaughterhouses, breweries, professional kitchens, etc.
  • Form:
    • Component A: Paste
    • Component B: Liquid
  • POT Life: ≈ 45 – 60 minutes
  • Open Time: ≈ 20 minutes
  • Walkability: After 24 hours
  • Joint Thickness: 1 – 15 mm
  • Application Temperature: From +12°C up to +30°C
  • Resistance Temperature: From -20°C up to +100°C

Substrate preparation:

The joints should be dry and clean, free from grease, dust or loose materials. Adhesive residues should be removed from the joint before applying NOVAGROUT® EPOXY. Where NOVAGROUT® EPOXY is used as a tile adhesive for existing flooring and / or walls of ceramic tiles, granite tiles, marbles, mosaics, etc. these should be well fixed to the substrate and free of debris that may affect adhesion. If necessary, clean the surface according to the type of surface dirt with ALCALINE CLEANER® or ACID CLEAN® TURBO and rinse with clean water. For more information, please refer to the corresponding Product Data Sheets.

Preparation:

Add component B (liquid) to the container of component A (paste) and mix it with an electric stirrer at low speed until a uniform, lump-free paste is obtained. Keep in mind that NOVAGROUT® EPOXY develops heat when stirring and if the ingredients are mixed at high revolutions, the heat that will develop will accelerate the hardening of the material, resulting in a significant reduction in the workability time. Avoid mixing in any case by hand.

Application as epoxy adhesive:

Apply the material with a notched trowel of suitable width depending on the shape of the substrate and the back of the coat and proceed to the placement of the tiles by applying constant pressure to ensure good contact with the adhesive.

Application as grout:

Application of the mixture to the joints is made with rubber spatula diagonally in the direction of the joints to fill the depths and widths of the gaps. With the same tool and way, the excess material is removed from the surface of the tiles.
Cleaning is done as long as the product is fresh using a well-moistened hard sponge with circular movements. During the cleaning process the sponge should be cleaned at regular intervals with plenty of water. Then the surface of the tiles is cleaned with a clean, soft and slightly damp sponge. At the end of the cleaning, the tile surface should be free from traces of grout, because after hardening the product can only be removed by mechanical means.

Recommendations:

  • Always use the preset quantities of A & B
  • During application, the minimum substrate and ambient temperature should be + 12°C and maximum + 30°C
  • For the adhesion and grouting of natural stones it is recommended to check the ease of cleaning and stability of natural stone shades
  • Do not use on porous surfaces (eg cotto)
  • Do not apply it to loose, fresh or on a substrate that has not matured sufficiently
  • Do not use it when there is water in joints or expansion joints
  • Do not use in joints smaller than 1 mm
  • Do not use acid or corrosive substances during cleaning
  • Avoid the presence of stagnant water in newly grouted joints. Permanent immersion in water takes place over 7 days
  • Application should be performed by professional skilled workers

Cleaning:

Tools, buckets, tiles etc. can be cleaned with fresh and clean water if, NOVAGROUT® EPOXY is still fresh. After hardening occurs, cleaning can take place by mechanical means. Traces on tiles removed by using PAINT REMOVER®.
